The Indian home reality
Most Indian living rooms have large windows, marble or tile flooring, and shared walls. For these spaces, we recommend a dual setup — a 75" TV for daytime news and cricket, plus a motorized ALR screen that drops down for evening cinema. Best of both worlds, no compromise.
Small interventions, big difference. None of these require breaking walls.
Flutter echo and floor slap smear dialogue and bass. Response is uneven across frequencies — some tones ring longer than others.
Blackout lined curtains absorb first reflections and block light. Vertical or horizontal blinds rattle and reflect high frequencies harshly.
A 6×4 ft rug between speakers and seating kills floor slap echo. Marble is the worst acoustic surface — soft it wherever you can.
Books are excellent diffusers. A full bookshelf behind seating breaks parallel-wall flutter echo and adds warmth to midrange.
A dropped gypsum ceiling with 2" acoustic wool above controls ceiling bounce and hides Atmos speaker cabling cleanly.
Fabric sofas absorb mid-highs; leather reflects them. If you have leather, throw a thick cotton dhurrie or blanket over the back.
A ₹2,000 self-adhesive foam seal around your door keeps bass in and neighbours happy. The single highest ROI acoustic fix.

"Got my dedicated 7.2.4 Atmos room done for ₹9L. The team handled acoustics, false ceiling, speaker placement, everything. Watched RRR on it last weekend — felt like a private IMAX. Worth every rupee."
"I was sceptical about a projector in our living room with so much sunlight. They suggested an ALR screen and it actually works during the day. The after-sales service is also responsive — they came back twice to fine-tune."
"Started with a ₹1.2L soundbar setup for the bedroom. Liked it so much that we got the full living room theatre done six months later. EMI made it painless. Honest team, no upselling."
"The budget calculator on their site was scarily accurate — final quote was within 4% of the estimate. Install crew was tidy and finished in two days flat."
